Children should be introduced to other languages as young as possible. Research is inconclusive as to whether a child learning a second language will be delayed when beginning to speak. The benefits by far outweigh this possible risk.

Learning a second language improves listening and comprehension skills, as well as an improved ability to understand English as children learn foreign synonyms and word etymology. The research does show that studying a second language does lead to higher SAT scores, better colleges, and greater career choices. Not a concern for all of us but statistics prove this to be true.

By introducing children to any second language at an early age they become lifelong language learners. They are “hard wired “ for acquiring and understanding languages for the rest of their lives.

More than ever this generation of youngsters needs to be bilingual in our ever growing global society.
